Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
This policy describes how gamma2278 handles information in:
- Remix Player (Android app)
- OCR Radio (the shared listening site at https://ocrplayer.web.app/)
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name or email address to use these services.
Remix Player (Android)
The app lets you browse, play, like, and save OverClocked ReMix tracks on your device.
- On-device data. Favorites, playback settings, and similar preferences are stored on your device (for example in the app database and SharedPreferences).
- Favorite backup (optional). If you upload or download a favorite list, that list is stored in Google Firebase Realtime Database so you can restore it later.
- Likes. Like actions are sent to our remix API so public like counts can be updated.
- Device info. The app may send a device maker/model string and a timestamp to Firebase so we can understand what devices are in use.
- Analytics and crash reports. Google Firebase Analytics records in-app events such as playing a track or searching. Google Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports to help us fix bugs. Google’s measurement services may use an advertising ID on the device.
- Notifications. If you use alarm or playback-related notifications, Android may keep the related permission and notification settings on the device.
OCR Radio (website)
The website is a shared radio so visitors can listen to the same remix and vote on the next track.
- Anonymous listener ID. The site signs you in anonymously with Google Firebase Authentication so votes can be counted once per person in each round. If that sign-in is unavailable, a random ID is stored in your browser instead. This ID is not tied to your name or email.
- Votes and shared playback. Your vote, the currently playing remix, and related station state are stored in Google Firebase Realtime Database so everyone hears the same mix.
- Likes. Like actions are sent to our remix API so public like counts can be updated.
- Playback preferences. Volume and mute settings are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device only.
The website does not use advertising or analytics SDKs. You can remove local website data by clearing site data for ocrplayer.web.app.
Information used by both
- Technical request data. Hosting and API providers may receive standard logs such as IP address, app or browser type, and time of access.
- Remix metadata and audio. Track information comes from our remix API. Artwork and audio are loaded from OverClocked ReMix and its mirrors. Those sites are not operated by us and have their own policies.
How we use it
We use this information to operate Remix Player and OCR Radio: play remixes, save favorites, count likes and votes, keep the shared radio in sync, understand usage, and fix crashes.
We do not sell your information.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase (Hosting, Authentication, Realtime Database, Analytics, and Crashlytics)
- Our remix API for track metadata and like counts
- OverClocked ReMix and audio mirrors for artwork and streaming
We share information with these providers only as needed to run the services. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Retention
Data on your device or browser stays until you clear app data or site data. Favorite lists you upload, like counts, and shared radio state remain on our servers while those features are in use. Analytics and crash reports are kept by Google according to their retention settings.
Children
These services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
